PROTOCOLS
Protocol is a set of official procedures, guidelines or system of rules that govern the affairs of the State, and explain the correct conduct and procedures to be followed in formal situations.
The Chancery and Protocol Division out of the Office of the Prime Minister has the responsibility for all State Protocol and is headed by a Chief Protocol Officer. The Division advises on the application of conventions, formalities, courtesies and roles of official protocol and etiquette in respect of State, Official and Social occasions involving the Prime Minister.
The Unit plans, arranges and executes programmes for visiting Heads of State, Heads of Government and other High-Ranking Officials. Among the important ceremonies are the Installation and Inauguration Ceremonies of State Officials that are planned in conjunction with King’s House.

Protocol also speaks to how dignitaries are addressed and the order they appear, based on their ranks.
